How We Choose Products

Last updated: October 7, 2026

Every pick on Cali’s Cart follows the same process. Here is exactly how we decide what to recommend, and what we do not claim.

1. We start with what you need

We begin with a real shopping question, such as the best moisturizer for dry skin or a hair dryer that will not damage fine hair. That question decides which features matter, so we compare products on what actually affects you.

2. We research each product

  • Manufacturer specifications, ingredient lists and instructions.
  • Product details published by the retailer, such as size, materials, included items and warranty information.
  • Patterns in verified customer reviews: recurring praise, recurring complaints and how products hold up over time.
  • Safety notes, such as fragrance-free or patch-test advice for skincare, where they apply.

3. We compare and narrow down

We compare options side by side and keep the products that offer a clear advantage for a particular need or budget. We note the trade-offs too, so you know what you give up with each choice.

4. We explain who it is for

Each recommendation says who the product suits, who should skip it and what to check before buying, such as shade range, sizing or compatibility.

What we do not claim

  • We do not lab-test products. If we ever test a product ourselves, the page will say so clearly.
  • We do not invent ratings, rankings or sales figures. Labels such as “most popular” or “best seller” appear only when they are supported by data we can show.
  • We do not give medical or dermatological advice. For skin conditions, allergies or treatments, speak with a qualified professional.

Keeping pages current

Products change, go out of stock or get reformulated. We review our pages regularly and update or remove picks that no longer meet our standards. Prices and availability can change at any time, so always check the retailer’s page before you buy.
